French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Friday that France is prepared to take part in defensive operations to protect Israel if Iran launches attacks against it, adding that France’s involvement would depend on developments on the ground.
Macron emphasized that France prioritizes diplomatic solutions and clarified that it has neither participated in nor supported the recent Israeli airstrikes.
“We support Israel’s security, and if Israel is attacked, France will participate in its defensive operations. We did not make this decision jointly with Israel. I have offered Israel my readiness to help, but I have no intention whatsoever to take part in any offensive operation,” Macron said, according to reports from Le Monde.
