French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to visit Greenland on June 15, just days before the G7 leaders’ summit in Canada.
During his visit, Macron will meet with the Prime Ministers of Denmark and Greenland to discuss crucial issues including security in the North Atlantic and the Arctic, climate impacts, critical minerals, and European sovereignty in the region.
Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Danish Realm, holds significant strategic importance due to its geographical position and rich natural resources.
Macron’s visit comes at a time of increasing international interest in the territory, notably following President Donald Trump’s previous expressed interest in purchasing Greenland.
