French President Emmanuel Macron has dismissed defeatist views on the war in Ukraine, asserting that Russia has been significantly weakened by the conflict. According to Macron, Russia has entered a recession, become fully dependent on China, faces demographic challenges, and is experiencing military failures.
Macron emphasized that Europe has become the primary source of military funding for Kyiv, indirectly referencing pressure on European countries from the United States to increase their support. He added that no peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia can be achieved without European involvement.
“We will be part of the solution and must be part of the solution,” Macron stated, noting that this is why his office recently restored direct contact with Moscow.
