French President Emmanuel Macron held a call with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, focusing on the ongoing Kosovo–Serbia dialogue and the European future of the Western Balkans.
Macron stressed that Serbia must continue reforms and engage constructively with Kosovo if it wants to advance on its path toward European Union membership.
“Serbia’s destiny is European, and I hope it will move forward with reforms and membership while preserving the spirit of dialogue,” Macron stated after the conversation.
The French leader also highlighted the importance of stability and unity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with respect for the rule of law across the entire region.
On the Kosovo–Serbia relationship, Macron reminded Vučić that any unilateral actions that undermine dialogue are unacceptable, emphasizing that dialogue remains the only path to normalizing relations.
“With the Western Balkan countries, Europe will fulfill its destiny — in unity, solidarity, and responsibility,” Macron concluded.
