Malishevë: Emergency Fire Management Task Force Convenes Amid Escalating Wildfires

The Mayor of Malishevë, Ekrem Kastrati, convened an extraordinary meeting today with the Emergency Task Force for Fire Management, aiming to take urgent measures in response to the growing wildfire situation across specific areas of the municipality.

During the meeting, representatives from local institutions including the Firefighting Unit and Kosovo Police in Malishevë reported that the situation is worsening rapidly. In response, the Task Force unanimously called for the mobilization of volunteer teams in the villages, particularly in areas where fire outbreaks are active and widespread.

The meeting also issued a public appeal to all citizens of Malishevë to support firefighting teams in their efforts to contain and extinguish the fires as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, all local farmers were urged to utilize available agricultural machinery to help prevent the further spread of the fires.

To ensure more effective coordination and management, Mayor Kastrati announced a follow-up meeting for tomorrow, which will also include the participation of Local Council leaders from across the municipality.
