Man Arrested for Attack on KFOR and Kosovo Police Personnel

The Special Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with an attack on KFOR troops and Kosovo Police officers.

Authorities reported that raids were conducted at the suspect’s residence, where material evidence confirming the criminal acts was discovered.

“Under suspicion of attacking KFOR and Kosovo Police personnel, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has detained the individual with initials L.M. for 48 hours. Following several months of investigation, law enforcement officers arrested the suspect in the municipality of Zvečan,” the statement read.

The suspect is accused of multiple criminal offenses, including:

  • Conspiracy for unconstitutional activity
  • Endangering protected persons under international security
  • Participation in a crowd committing criminal acts and hooliganism
  • Assault on an official

“With the prosecutor’s authorization, searches were conducted at the suspect’s home, where material evidence verifying the criminal acts was seized. A request for pre-trial detention will be submitted to the Basic Court in Pristina within the legally prescribed timeframe,” the statement added.
