Federal investigators and law enforcement have launched intensified searches in neighborhoods surrounding Utah Valley University as part of the ongoing manhunt for the suspected killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
According to Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason, authorities have tracked the suspect’s movements following the fatal shooting.
“He is believed to have jumped from a building where the shots were fired and then fled the campus, entering one of the nearby neighborhoods,” Mason said Thursday morning, as reported by CNN.
FBI agents and local police are conducting door-to-door checks in the Orem area, interviewing residents and gathering any possible evidence that could lead to the suspect’s identification or capture.
The investigation is now focused on residential areas around the university, where the suspect is believed to have gone into hiding after leaving the crime scene.
