The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, stated that the Kosovo Security Force received weapons purchased from the United States during the months of September, October, and early November.

He emphasized that the U.S. has never hesitated to cooperate with Kosovo on arms purchases.

“We have continuously received arms from the U.S. and we are still receiving them. The last purchase was in October, and before that, we had a shipment in September. American military planes landed at the Pristina International Airport, from where weapons were unloaded and loaded onto KSF trucks. Naturally, we have not made these public due to their sensitivity,” Maqedonci said on Klan Kosova.

“In September, we had American planes, and in October and early November, we received weapons that were presented during Kurti’s visit, specifically within the KSF. At no point have we had hesitation from the U.S. in selling arms to the KSF. On the contrary, I had the opportunity to visit Washington last December, where I had meetings at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Defense, where we received tremendous support.”

Maqedonci also mentioned that the methods of purchasing weapons for the Ministry of Defense have now changed, and that weapons are no longer purchased through intermediaries, as was the case in the past.
