Kosovo’s Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci announced that he hosted a meeting with the commander of the amphibious warship USS Pearl Harbor, Alban Dervishi.
In a Facebook post, Maqedonci stated that Dervishi’s dedication, professionalism, and success are strong proof of the growing role of Albanian-Americans within the security and defense institutions of the United States.
“Today I had the pleasure of welcoming the commander of the amphibious ship USS Pearl Harbor, Alban Dervishi, an American officer of Albanian origin serving in the United States Navy,” Maqedonci wrote.
During the meeting, Dervishi expressed that he was honored to visit Kosovo and praised the country’s achievements, particularly in the development and advancement of its defense system.
Maqedonci thanked him for the visit and reiterated Kosovo’s gratitude for the continued support from the United States, emphasizing that the U.S. remains a strategic and irreplaceable ally.
