Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, during his visit to Warsaw, was invited for an interview on TVP World as well as by the Security Forum team.
In the interview with TVP World, Maqedonci emphasized that the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) was just and pure, while Serbia’s true aim through the accusations against KLA leaders is to undermine Kosovo’s statehood and the legitimacy of NATO’s intervention, which stopped the genocide perpetrated by Serbia in Kosovo.
“I made it clear that Serbia continues to maintain a hegemonistic approach toward Kosovo and neighboring countries, conducting hybrid warfare and sheltering, rather than handing over, members of the paramilitary group that attempted to annex the northern part of Kosovo and carried out terrorist acts against our institutions. I presented our perspective on the global security environment, technological changes, as well as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, emphasizing the support Kosovo has provided and continues to provide to Ukraine in its just fight for freedom,” he said.
He also highlighted the government’s investments in developing Kosovo’s defense capabilities and the fact that our army is being built according to NATO standards, ensuring interoperability with allies and preparing the country for NATO membership.
“I confirmed that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to its path toward membership in NATO and the European Union, as well as to preserving and strengthening democratic values,” he added.
