The Minister of Defense , Ejup Maqedonci, met today with his Latvian counterpart, Andris Spruds, to discuss regional developments and the security situation in the country and Europe.
Maqedonci informed Spruds about the situation in the northern part of North following the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc water canal in the village of Varagë, Zubin Potok.
“I briefed my counterpart on the situation in the north after the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal in the village of Varagë, as well as the ongoing security threat posed by Serbia to the stability of the Western Balkans, being the only country that maintains close ties with Russia,” Maqedonci stated.
“We also emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences in the fields of security and defense, total defense, and cooperation in advancing shared interests, as well as promoting the values that Kosovo and Latvia share in the face of threats from autocratic regimes. I am grateful for the support Latvia has provided to Kosovo’s efforts to join international organizations, and we look forward to further cooperation moving forward,” Maqedonci added.
