Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has lauded the United Kingdom’s crucial role in every stage of Kosovo’s state-building, particularly in the security and defense sectors.

In a social media post, Maqedonci announced a productive meeting with British bilateral advisor, Lieutenant Colonel Mike Butler, where they discussed bilateral cooperation in defense. “The United Kingdom, at every stage of the Republic of Kosovo’s state-building, has been an important and highly supportive partner in building human, logistical, and legal capacities in every sector. This country has especially made an extremely valuable contribution in the field of security and defense. It is precisely in this sector that the bilateral advisor, Lieutenant Colonel Mike Butler, is providing support,” Maqedonci wrote.

He highlighted that their discussion covered activities within the bilateral plan between the two nations, including Operation “Interflex,” which represents the Kosovo Security Force’s (KSF) most significant mission abroad. “Operation Interflex, which constitutes the KSF’s most important current mission abroad, and also recognizing the potential of our army, the discussion also covered the expansion of cooperation in new directions, so that our army, as a professional force, can contribute to peace beyond our state borders,” he added.
