The march for the victims in Kočani started tonight in Skopje with three minutes of silence, the laying of flowers, and the lighting of candles. The event was organized by the civil movement “Who’s Next.” Participants gathered at the “Macedonia” square, from where they headed through the “Triumphal Arch” towards the Parliament of North Macedonia.
It is planned for the citizens to gather at the “Woman Fighter” park, opposite the Parliament and the City Hospital. From there, they will honor healthcare workers with a five-minute round of applause, as reported by Alsat.
The march will continue towards the “Holiday Inn” hotel, crossing the “Philip II” bridge and “Goce Delčev” boulevard, until they reach the Government, where there will be a gathering, 16 minutes of silence for the deceased, and speeches.
“Who’s Next?” stated in the march’s announcement that it is exclusively against any form of violence and provocation and distances itself from any calls, chants (hate speech), or behavior that aims to disrupt public order and peace.
It was emphasized that party symbols are prohibited as the protest is a civic initiative and should not be political. Participants are expected to follow the instructions, avoid any provocation, and not carry sharp objects, weapons, fireworks, or litter.
Additionally, they mentioned that the destruction of public and private property is prohibited, according to KosovaPress.
Due to the protest march, a special traffic regime has been implemented in the central area of the city from 7:00 PM. The Skopje Police Department urges respect for the orders given by the police officers.
