Albania’s Ambassador to Washington, Ervin Bushati, met with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, officially inviting him to visit Albania on behalf of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“Friend of Albanians” Accepts Invitation
In a social media post, Bushati described Rubio as a “friend of Albanians” and emphasized the importance of relations between the two nations. “I also invited him on behalf of a small nation, but with a big heart like Mother Teresa,” the ambassador wrote, highlighting Albania’s message to the EU: “more love and more humble service.”
Rubio “gladly accepted” the invitation, commending Albania as a significant contributor to NATO, especially after his recent visit to The Hague.
Albania: A Miracle of American Diplomacy
Bushati concluded his post with a message for July 4th, calling it not just U.S. Independence Day but a “Declaration of Freedom and Democracy for the whole world.” He underscored Albania’s transformation from a communist dictatorship into a pro-American and pro-NATO country.
“Albania is a miracle of American diplomacy,” Ambassador Bushati asserted.
