Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić stated that the recent agreement defined within the Brussels–Belgrade–Prishtina framework has prevented the worst possible outcome for Serbs living and working in Kosovo, ensuring the protection of their interests under challenging circumstances.

Đurić highlighted that the agreement addresses the application of the Prishtina “foreigners’ law,” granting temporary residence permits for one year to Serbs who work or study in Kosovo, while Serbs residing in the territory have three months to obtain the relevant documents issued by Prishtina authorities.

He praised the efforts of Serbian negotiators and the engagement of the EU, US, and broader international community in resolving issues arising from unilateral and uncoordinated actions by the government of Albin Kurti.

Đurić emphasized that protecting Serbian citizens remains a central priority for the Serbian president and government. He also condemned political criticism of the agreement within Serbia, stating that Kosovo should not be used as a tool for political point-scoring but rather as a matter of national unity.

The minister reiterated the importance of implementing other agreements from the dialogue, particularly the ratified agreement on forming the Community of Serbian Municipalities, as a necessary step to ensure that interethnic and institutional relations in Kosovo remain stable and less dependent on unilateral decisions.
