The “Marshojmë s’festojmë” collective has called for a protest on March 8, focusing on fighting violence and advocating for solidarity, dignity, and security for women.
The “Marshojmë s’festojmë” collective has issued a call for a protest on March 8, with the central message being a fight against violence. They raised a banner at the “Reporting House” stating, “When the state does not protect us, we revolt.” The key purpose of this protest is to address violence and the broader fight for women’s rights and safety.
Activist Latra Demaçi emphasized that violence stems from patriarchy, racist capitalism, global inequalities, and ideologies that dehumanize certain bodies and minds, labeling them as “incapable.” She cited several instances of femicides and violence against women in Kosovo as tragic consequences of the patriarchal system.
Demaçi called for the protest and march on March 8 at 12:00 PM in “Zahir Pajaziti” square, asking the public to join for solidarity, life, and mutual care. She highlighted the protest’s purpose of advocating for the dignity, security, and well-being of all women and girls.
This event is part of the collective’s activities for International Women’s Day, aiming to bring attention to the ongoing struggles for women’s rights and gender equality.
