On a day that is usually celebrated as Ulqin’s Day, today the city is experiencing a completely different atmosphere, as a massive citizen protest began at 12:00 PM at the well-known location of Ranë, near the Small Beach in Ulqin.

The protest is a response to the attempt to lease and privatize public coastal spaces, an issue that has raised great concern among the citizens of this coastal city.

A large number of Ulqin residents have gathered to protest what they consider the “sale of Ulqin,” raising their voices to protect the interests of their city.

The motto of the protest is “Ulqin is Not for Sale,” a strong and clear message to those who are attempting to take steps that could harm the city and its environment.

The Municipality of Ulqin has sent clear messages to the government, expressing support for investments and the development of the city, but emphasizing that these developments must align with the city’s interests and without damaging its public assets.

They have also called for transparency and active participation in decisions that will affect the future of Ulqin, insisting that citizens play a key role in the important processes that impact their lives and the future of their city.
