At least one person has been killed and three others injured in a “massive” drone attack overnight in Moscow and the surrounding region, local officials say.
Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov stated that the victims were in the cities of Vidnoye and Domodedovo, outside the capital.
Seven apartments in a residential building were damaged.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 73 drones heading towards the city were shot down.
The roof of a building was damaged by debris from the drone.
A suburban train network has now been suspended, and flight restrictions have been imposed at Moscow’s airports following the attack—one of the largest since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
