Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered last night at Istanbul’s Beyazit Square to voice their opposition to Israeli military actions and the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Organized under the slogan “Be a Hope for Gaza,” the demonstration culminated in a march to the historic Hagia Sophia Mosque. Participants called for increased global awareness of Gaza’s suffering and urged urgent international intervention to support the Palestinian people.

Since October 2023, the conflict in Gaza has resulted in over 61,000 casualties, with the enclave facing imminent famine and severe shortages of essential supplies. In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Additionally, Israel currently faces genocide lawsuits at the International Court of Justice, intensifying global scrutiny of its actions in Gaza.
