The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, concluded his press conference at the party’s headquarters with a message of support for the Albanian national football team ahead of today’s highly anticipated match against Serbia.
“I wholeheartedly wish our national team success and victory. I hope for a top-class football match—I’ll be watching it,” Berisha said enthusiastically.
However, his remarks soon took on a political tone, as he sent a pointed message to those he believes are on the wrong side of history.
“I hope that those who are with Vučić with heart and soul will not attend the match,” he stated, clearly targeting individuals perceived to sympathize with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
