The captain of the Albanian national team, Berat Gjimshiti, was an honorary guest on Wednesday in the office of the Mayor of Bujanoc, Arbër Pajaziti.
During the meeting, the mayor awarded Gjimshiti a certificate of appreciation for his contribution and dignified representation on the international stage—but also delivered a direct message:
“You must defeat Serbia,” Pajaziti told the captain of Albania, referring to the highly anticipated match set to take place on June 7 in Tirana.
Gjimshiti responded calmly and firmly:
“With God’s will.”
In the friendly atmosphere of the meeting, one attendee asked the mayor to repeat his message. Pajaziti reiterated his wish for a victory over Serbia, and Gjimshiti replied once again, briefly but confidently:
“God willing.”
The Albania–Serbia match, to be played at the National Arena as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, is being followed with intense interest both inside and outside the region.
