Yesterday, Kosovo received a direct threat from a Montenegrin municipal leader.
The individual in question is Dario Vranesh, the Mayor of Pljevlja, who, for the second time this year, called for the occupation of Prizren.
Vranesh’s latest threat came during a gathering with leaders of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro.
During a ceremony in which he was awarded the White Angel Order in honor of Good Friday, Vranesh received the recognition from the bishop of the Mileševa Eparchy, KPS Atanasije.
On this occasion, a procession was held on the streets of Pljevlja, attended by Joanikije, Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Accepting the order, Vranesh declared that next year they would go to Prizren, and that the only path to salvation is the path of Saint Sava.
“The path of Saint Sava is the path of Christ’s love, God’s love, and philanthropy. In harmony and brotherly love, we work to preserve and build our Pljevlja, our Serbian lands, our Kosovo. Let us always remember that all our sufferings are buried in a tomb in Kosovo. Dear brothers and sisters, come to Prizren,” he said, as reported by Antena.
These statements were not Vranesh’s first; he made similar calls in March this year after receiving an invitation to participate in an event in Kosovo.
Vranesh was invited to be part of a fair via an official email and formal invitation.
However, his response to the organizers came as a stark surprise.
In Cyrillic script, Vranesh responded to Prishtina’s invitation to attend the Tourism and Sports Fair with harsh language, even threatening the occupation of Prizren.
“The so-called state of Kosovo does not exist, only the Serbian province of Kosovo. See you next year in Prizren!” reads his email response.
