Signs and documents with the names of Kosovo’s institutions were placed today in a building in North Mitrovica, where parallel Serbian institutions, which were previously closed, were located.
The signs were installed to operationalize the institutions in the north that fall under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Local Government Administration, and the Ministry of Finance, Labor, and Transfers.
While the signs were being installed, members of the Kosovo Police were also present.
In a building in Leposavic, where another Serbian parallel institution operated until Friday, documents of the Ministry for Communities and Returns and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development were reported to have been placed today.
The pro-government Serbian local media, Kosovo Online, which published the footage, reported that the police officials “were also visited by Italian Carabinieri.”
On Friday, the police conducted an operation, closing five Serbian parallel municipalities in the north.
The United States, the European Union, and KFOR opposed the action, stating that the government did not coordinate with them despite “commitments,” and that this could pose a risk to security.
