Metal workers will hold an eight-hour strike on March 28, calling for the resumption of negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement for this sector.

The protest, promoted jointly by Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil, and Uilm-Uil, will include mobilizations across Italy, with demonstrations and marches, reports ANSA.

In Naples, the rally is scheduled for 9:30 AM at Piazza Vittoria, with a procession that will end at Piazza dei Martiri at the Naples Industrial Union, where the final rally will take place, featuring speeches from representatives of Fim, Fiom, and Uilm, with closing remarks by Rocco Palombella, national secretary of Naples.

The unions denounce the deadlock in negotiations with Federmeccanica and Assistal, which “deny the right to renew the contract” and demand certain wage increases that are in line with inflation, better protection for safety and rights, as well as measures to fight insecurity and reduce working hours, as reported by KosovaPress.

Fim, Fiom, and Uilm emphasize that renewing the CCNL is essential “to guarantee security for workers and companies that want clear rules to protect themselves from unfair competition.”
