On Sunday evening, a luminous object was filmed in the sky over Kosovo. This sighting has generated buzz on social media, and astronomy professor Milaim Rushiti has stated that it could be a meteor, though it has not been fully confirmed yet.
He told KOHA that the phenomenon gained attention because the celestial body appeared larger than usual, though he mentioned that such occurrences are completely normal. “From what I have seen, although it has not been confirmed yet, we may have observed meteors in the sky over Kosovo. This is entirely normal and there is no danger from them as they usually disintegrate before reaching the ground. They could also have been fragments of asteroids, as they appear larger than usual in the footage. Meteors are typically over 10 centimeters, while asteroids are about 1 meter,” Rushiti said on Monday.
