Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) conducted a working visit to the Municipality of North Mitrovica to closely monitor the ongoing process of residence permit applications and the registration of civil status records.
According to the official statement, the visit included representatives from the Administration for Civil Registration (ARC), the Legal Department, and the Department for Citizenship, Asylum, and Migration. They observed the work of staff responsible for receiving applications and processing cases submitted by citizens.
During their stay, officials held direct meetings with citizens seeking to regularize their legal status in the Republic of Kosovo. Detailed information was provided on legal procedures, available documentation, and options for obtaining official documents.
Key issues raised by citizens included:
- Issuance of documents for spouses of Kosovo citizens through family reunification procedures;
- Registration and documentation for children born abroad;
- Procedures for applying for residence permits for family members of individuals who already hold residence permits in Kosovo.
The MIA emphasized its commitment to providing transparent and accessible services for all citizens, ensuring consistent application of legislation across the country.
The visit in North Mitrovica is part of ongoing efforts by the MIA to inform citizens and facilitate administrative procedures. Similar initiatives are expected to continue in other municipalities throughout Kosovo to ensure efficient and equitable service delivery.
