Iran has significantly escalated its military operations in the Persian Gulf by targeting civilian infrastructure and transport networks, including commercial shipping routes and Dubai International Airport. These attacks come amid renewed waves of airstrikes by U.S. and Israeli fighter jets against Iranian positions.

Iranian officials issued defiant warnings of a “long war of attrition,” claiming such a conflict could disrupt global energy supplies and cause widespread economic instability.

The conflict, now in its 12th day, has also seen Israeli strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, while Iranian and Hezbollah forces have launched rockets and drones toward northern Israel.

Humanitarian impact is severe: Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have reportedly resulted in at least 634 deaths and 1,586 injuries, while more than 816,700 families have been internally displaced.

On Wednesday evening, tensions escalated further when Israeli jets targeted southern Beirut outskirts and southern Lebanon following drone and rocket attacks from Hezbollah directed at northern Israel.

The situation highlights the growing volatility in the Middle East, with potential ramifications for regional stability and global energy markets.
