Croatian President Zoran Milanović has rejected claims by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that Croatia, Kosovo and Albania are planning to attack Serbia, calling the statements senseless and urging caution in public remarks.

Milanović questioned the basis of Vučić’s allegations, saying Croatia does not possess the military capability or intention to launch such an attack.

“How exactly should we attack? With what? We don’t even have an army for something like that. In the end, I would be the one making such a decision,” Milanović said.

The Croatian president also raised concerns about Serbia’s increasing military spending, noting that Belgrade has been acquiring advanced weapons systems. He pointed out that Serbia has purchased weapons from China, Russia and Israel.

According to Milanović, medium-range missile systems represent particularly dangerous weapons and are unusual for the region.

“It is a dangerous weapon. No European country has it, yet Serbia now does,” he said.

Vučić responded to Milanović’s remarks during a visit to Bajina Bašta, stating that no one would dictate what he is allowed to say.

“My name is Aleksandar Vučić and I am the proud president of Serbia. Neither the Croatian president nor anyone else will dictate what I will say,” Vučić stated.

He added that Serbia’s goal remains peace and stability in the region, while emphasizing that the country continues to strengthen its defense capabilities and advance economically.
