A few days ago in Tirana, as part of strengthening defense cooperation, a trilateral joint declaration was signed between Albania, Croatia, and Kosovo.
This trilateral declaration sparked numerous reactions, including from Serbia, which labeled it as an “open provocation” towards Belgrade.
However, regarding this, Jamie Shea, the former NATO spokesperson, stated that all three countries made it clear that their defense agreement is not directed against Belgrade, but rather created to enhance cooperation among them.
He emphasized that it is encouraging to see that countries in the region are taking more responsibility for their security and are doing so by helping each other.
“The three countries have made it clear that their defense agreement is not directed against Belgrade, but is designed to increase cooperation among them. It is significant that other countries in the region have quickly shown interest in joining the trilateral agreement. It is encouraging that countries in the region are taking more responsibility for their security and are doing so by helping each other,” said Shea to public television.
Meanwhile, today NATO declared that it had no role in the consultation process regarding the Declaration on Strengthening Defense Cooperation, which was signed on March 18 between Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia.
