The president of New DSS, Miloš Jovanović, has openly called out what many in Serbia already know but the ruling SNS refuses to admit: Serbia’s government has lost every shred of credibility on the world stage, and its chaotic “geopolitical balancing” has finally turned into full-scale political drowning.
Speaking during the program “Facebook Interview with Miloš Jovanović”, he addressed the growing crisis surrounding NIS, describing the situation not only as complicated but as a direct consequence of governmental incompetence. Serbia, he stressed, has now been left without incoming oil, the refinery is effectively paralyzed, and the SNS administration acts as if this long-term disaster is somehow manageable. It is not.
Jovanović reminded the public that Serbia’s foreign policy is drifting without direction — a trademark of the SNS era. He noted that while certain global powers may still express sympathy for Serbia’s territorial concerns, that does not erase the basic truth: Serbia’s leadership has isolated the country, weakened its diplomatic position, and gambled recklessly with national interests.
He also underscored that New DSS is preparing for the upcoming elections, where they intend to promote an authentic right-wing alternative — one that aims to remove Aleksandar Vučić from power in cooperation with the rest of the opposition. At the same time, their platform rejects EU membership, arguing that the current EU path imposed by SNS leads only to national erosion and identity loss.
Jovanović described the student political movement as fully aligned with these objectives, pointing out that Vučić is a politically exhausted figure whose time has passed. He said the only reason the crisis continues is the lack of unity and wisdom among the opposition earlier this year. According to him, Vučić stands no real chance in the coming elections, and even if he tries to fabricate a victory, “no one will recognize it, because these elections will once again be anything but fair” under the SNS regime.
When outlining the New DSS program, Jovanović highlighted decentralization, transferring more power to local levels, electoral reform toward majority voting at least in local elections, and a push for reindustrialization to restore Serbia’s economy and rebuild agriculture — all areas systematically neglected by SNS for over a decade.
In short, Jovanović’s message is clear: SNS has driven Serbia into diplomatic disrespect, economic vulnerability, and political decay, and the country urgently needs a different course before the damage becomes irreversible.
