The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has announced that in September, a recruitment competition will be opened for 300 new soldiers, who will begin basic training in November.
Through a post on the social network “Facebook,” Maqedonci revealed that so far, 1931 soldiers and cadets have been recruited, while 40 more are in the process.
“Because the army is truly a priority for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, within this mandate, we have recruited 1931 new soldiers and cadets so far, and an additional forty cadets are currently in the recruitment process. But we will not stop here; in September, the competition for recruiting three hundred more soldiers will open, and they will start basic training in November.
We promised to enhance defense capacities, and in this regard, alongside almost doubling the total number of military personnel, we have invested in ensuring that the Kosovo Army has the most modern weapons systems in its military arsenal.
Not only did we fulfill, but we exceeded the number of recruitments and developmental activities planned in the Comprehensive Transition Plan. We are ahead in implementing the plan and have a clearer vision than ever for the future of the Kosovo Army as part of the great NATO alliance and as guarantors of Kosovo’s territorial sovereignty,” Maqedonci’s post continued.
