Minister Sveçla Confirms Arrest of Police Officer Bojan Jevtić in Espionage Operation

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has confirmed the arrest of police official Bojan Jevtić today as part of an anti-espionage operation, as reported by Gazeta Online Reporteri.net.

Sveçla extended his congratulations to the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA), the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), and the Special Prosecution for this “extraordinary action.” He declined to provide further details at this time.

“Yes, it’s true. I want to congratulate AKI, IPK, and the Prosecution on this extraordinary action. I cannot provide more details, but I sincerely tell you that it strengthens security in the Republic of Kosovo,” Sveçla stated to journalists.

Gazeta Online Reporteri.net also reported on Bojan Jevtić’s arrest. Earlier on Thursday morning, the Special Prosecution announced the operation, stating that details would be disclosed after its conclusion.

“The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo informs the public that, under its leadership, an operation is underway in cooperation with the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, regarding suspicions of committing the criminal offense of espionage,” the Prosecution’s announcement read.
