Ministry of Justice demands to Remove Hazardous Waste from Institute of Forensic Medicine (Document)

The Ministry of Justice, led by acting minister Albulena Haxhiu, has announced plans to remove and dispose of hazardous waste stored at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) in Kosovo.

According to a recent announcement on the E-procurement platform, the ministry is seeking to contract an economic operator to carry out this task.

🔹 Key details of the tender:

  • Budget allocated: €30,000
  • Contract duration: 36 months
  • Total amount of waste to be removed: 5,900 kg
  • Deadline for tender submission: June 5, 2025

🔹 Requirements for applicants:

  • At least one successfully completed contract for similar services in the last three years
  • Weighing equipment for on-site measurement
  • Specialized vehicles that ensure safe transport of hazardous materials, preventing leaks and environmental contamination

This initiative is seen as a preventive environmental and public health measure, as hazardous medical waste poses significant risks if left unmanaged.
