Tonight at 21:30, the Mitrovica Municipal Assembly is set to hold an extraordinary session.
Originally, the session was scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00, but the date was moved forward to comply with legal requirements. The change follows the provisions of:
- Article 43 of Law No. 03/L-040 on Local Self-Government
- Article 3, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 1.2, and Article 5 of Administrative Instruction (MAPL) No. 02/2015 on Municipal Assembly meetings
- Articles 50 (Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 1.2) and 52 (Paragraph 1) of the Mitrovica Municipal Statute, which require that such a session be held no later than one month after the constitutive session held on 12 December 2025.
The adjustment was necessary due to a miscalculation of the original call date, ensuring the session complies with the legal timeline.
The main agenda of tonight’s session is the election of the Assembly Chairperson.
