The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption has announced that, following receipt of a report, it launched an investigation into suspected abuse of official position or authority in the Mitrovica South Municipality.
During the investigation, authorities secured evidence related to a subsidy contract, where it is suspected that illegal alterations were made to its value, causing damage to the public budget.
The suspect was interviewed in the presence of a defense attorney, and after consultation with the competent prosecutor, was placed under a 48-hour police detention.
