Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine have signed an agreement for joint cooperation to combat Russian disinformation.
The joint agreement was signed during a trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries in the Moldovan capital, Chișinău, on July 5.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told reporters after the meeting that Russia’s “hybrid warfare arsenal” is being used not only against Ukraine, which Moscow invaded in 2022, but also against Moldova.
The meeting between Kuleba and the foreign ministers of Moldova and Romania, Mihai Popșoi and Luminița Odobescu, respectively, was their third since 2022.
Last month, the U.S. State Department said that the Kremlin “repeatedly uses lies and manipulations to create false pretexts for its unjustifiable invasion” of Ukraine and “to undermine global solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”
The Kremlin denied spreading disinformation and accused the West of engaging in “information terrorism.”
Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The West has imposed harsh sanctions on Russia while aiding Ukraine with weaponry.
Last month, the European Union also began negotiations for Ukraine’s membership.
