“In Kosovo, the people are in tragedy and are now seeking a way out. The way out is a disaster, because people see the way out in individual departures,” said Momčilo Trajković, the former governor of Kosovo appointed by the war criminal Slobodan Milošević and currently the chairman of the Serbian National Forum from Gračanica, during a media conference following a meeting with the Serbian opposition initiative “ProGlas.”
Trajković noted that this was the first such conversation between Kosovo Serbs and this type of organization and that the delegation views ProGlas as an intellectual elite, according to the Serbian newspaper Danas. He mentioned that they discussed all topics planned according to the meeting’s agenda. He added that despite differing opinions, there is mutual understanding and a desire for further cooperation.
Trajković announced a future meeting with all opposition representatives, stating that the goal of this meeting is the same.
He also complained that the Serbian Orthodox Church has not responded to numerous calls, adding that “there is no solution to the Kosovo issue without the church.”
“So far, we have received negative responses. And the Church should not intervene in politics, but it should and can influence the unification of the people,” he said.
“I will not talk about the authorities in Belgrade; they betrayed us. The Church and the intellectual elite are the ones who need to raise their heads,” he added.
