Vincenzo Montella addressed the media in Pristina ahead of the decisive clash between Kosovo and Turkey, praising the Kosovar team and emphasizing that their progress is well deserved.
“Kosovo has reached this stage on merit. Tactically, their structure is very clear — they have a well-defined style of play and ideas. You can see this during matches. We are heading into a final. We will prepare in the best possible way and we know what we want to do,” he said.
The Italian coach also highlighted the significance of the match for Turkey, recalling the national team’s long absence from the World Cup stage. He stressed that his players are aware of the responsibility but are highly motivated to change that history.
“Everyone feels the pressure. This is a final. We haven’t qualified for 24 years, but most of our players weren’t even born back then. If we haven’t qualified for 24 years, they are not to blame. This time we want to go, and we will give our best for our country,” Montella added.
The playoff final between Kosovo and Turkey will take place tomorrow at 20:45 at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium.
