In a column for the Montenegrin media outlet “Vijesti,” Executive Director Željko Ivanović praised Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani for her speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington last week. Ivanović highlighted the significance of her invitation, which he believes underscores the power of Kosovo’s diplomacy and lobbying efforts.
Ivanović criticized Slaven Radunović, the Minister of Urbanism from Velje Brdo, for missing Osmani’s 12-minute address. According to Ivanović, had Radunović heard the speech, he would have understood that Kosovo is not a “fake state.” He described Osmani’s speech as the most effectively used 12 minutes by any politician, emphasizing the warmth and personal nature of her story—a journey from war orphan to president. The audience’s standing ovation after her address confirmed its impact.
Ivanović further contrasted the diplomatic success of Kosovo’s President with the lack of engagement from Montenegrin leaders, who he humorously suggested were more focused on personal matters like car purchases and apartment hunting.
