Montenegro will today close five negotiation chapters with the European Union, marking a significant step forward in its EU accession process.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, is leading the Montenegrin government delegation at the Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels, where the following chapters are being formally closed:
- Chapter 3 – Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services
- Chapter 4 – Free Movement of Capital
- Chapter 6 – Company Law
- Chapter 11 – Agriculture and Rural Development
- Chapter 13 – Fisheries
The Intergovernmental Conference is scheduled to begin at 08:00, after which Prime Minister Spajić will address the media jointly with EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

High-Level Government Delegation
The Montenegrin delegation also includes Deputy Prime Ministers Ervin Ibrahimović and Nik Gjeloshaj, as well as Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević, Minister of Finance Novica Vuković, and Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Joković.
The closure of these chapters underscores Montenegro’s position as the most advanced EU accession candidate in the Western Balkans, reinforcing its strategic commitment to European integration and regulatory alignment with the European Union.
