The Government of Montenegro has decided to introduce international restrictive measures against Russia, aligning with the decisions and regulations of the European Union. The move comes in response to actions by the Russian Federation that destabilize the situation in Ukraine, according to an official statement following the government session.

The decision was made during a teleconference session on March 13, 2025, with the majority of government members approving the measure. Additionally, the government adopted an information report on the need to implement a specific point from a previous conclusion issued on April 18, 2019.

By implementing these sanctions, Montenegro continues its alignment with EU foreign policy, reinforcing its stance against Russia’s ongoing aggression in Ukraine.
