Overnight drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine left people injured and caused significant damage. Three people were wounded in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, according to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha.

One man was injured in Dnipro, while a man and a woman were wounded in Kryvyi Rih. The attacks also triggered fires, Hanzha said.

“Infrastructure has been damaged, and there are power outages,” he emphasized.

According to Ukrainian authorities, air defense systems successfully shot down 27 Russian drones.

In Russia— which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 — the Ministry of Defense reported that 59 Ukrainian drones were intercepted. Of these, 11 were downed over the Black Sea and another ten in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

Russia also reported damage from the attacks.

According to Volgograd regional governor Andrey Bocharov, an oil depot in Oktyabrsky was struck by debris from downed drones. The incident sparked a fire at the facility, and firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the flames.

Authorities evacuated residents due to the fires, Bocharov said. /RFE/RL/
