The three-day process in the Greek Parliament concluded with the defeat of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with 157 votes against and 136 in favor.
The motion, marked by tension and loud voices, was followed by a request for the expulsion of New Democracy MP Dimitris Kyriazidis. His inappropriate attack on Zoe Kostantopoulou sparked widespread outrage and was condemned by all parties in the parliament.
The motion was submitted jointly by four opposition parties (PASOK, SYRIZA, the New Left, and Pleusi Eleftherias) and gathered 85 signatures.
The heated and controversial debate centered on the train accident in Tempi, which was accompanied by protests across the country. The public is demanding justice for the 57 victims who lost their lives in the incident, with calls for full transparency.
