The VETËVENDOSJE Movement has officially formalized a coalition with three other parties—Guxo, Alternativa, and the Albanian Christian Democratic Party (PSHDK)—to run jointly in the December 28 elections.
In its 20:30 update, just hours before the deadline for parties to apply for certification of participation or declare their coalitions, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that this coalition will be registered under the name “Movement VETËVENDOSJE! Coalition.”
It will be composed of VETËVENDOSJE Movement, the Guxo Party, Alternativa, and PSHDK.
Prior to this, two other coalitions had already been formalized:
- The “PAI – PDAK – LPB” Coalition, composed of the Ashkali Party for Integration (PAI), the Democratic Party of Ashkalis of Kosovo (PDAK), and the Movement for Cooperation (LPB);
- The “Koalicija VAKAT” Coalition, composed of three Bosniak political parties: Demokratska Stranka Bošnjaka (DSB), Bošnjačka Stranka Kosova (BSK), and Demokratska Stranka Vatan (DSV).
Thus far, the following parties have registered individually:
- Democratic League of Kosovo – LDK
- Democratic Party of Kosovo – PDK
- Kosovaki Nevi Romani Partia
- Jedinstvena Goranska Partija
- Za Slobodu Pravdu i Opstanak
- Kosova Demokratik Türk Partisi
- Egyptian Liberal Party
- United Roma Party of Kosovo
- Socialdemokratska Unija – SDU
- Srpska Lista
- New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo
- Fjala
- Nova Demokratska Stranka – NDS
- Progressive Movement of Roma of Kosovo (LPRK)
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma) have not yet registered.
Parties have until December 7 to submit their candidate lists.
