On the occasion of Kurban Bajram, the leadership of the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK) hosted Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
During the meeting, Mufti Naim Tërnava ironically expressed that he had thought of inviting all parliament deputies to slaughter a sacrificial animal each, hoping it might help resolve the political deadlock.
“I wanted to invite all the deputies in parliament to slaughter a sacrificial animal each. Maybe things will go better for you. Maybe the paths will open. I have also addressed the issue of the declining birth rate and requested that those with 4-5 children be granted housing, because Kosovo is shrinking. The birth rate has dropped significantly,” said Tërnava.
The Mufti’s comments highlight concerns about Kosovo’s demographic challenges amid ongoing political tensions.
