The Municipality of Prishtina has announced new measures to regulate private parking areas throughout the city. Following the recent closure of several unauthorized private parking lots, authorities have made it clear that every private parking operator must now apply for a temporary permit until the new mobility plan is approved.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Municipality clarified that the upcoming mobility plan will define the standards and permitted locations for parking throughout the capital, aiming to improve the overall management of both public and private vehicle spaces.

Notice on Regulating Parking in the Capital
Due to the large number of unlicensed private parking lots—especially those with direct access to main roads, intersections, or green/public areas—the Municipality has taken immediate action to regulate them.
Every private parking operator must apply for a TEMPORARY PERMIT, with criteria to be defined by an administrative act issued by the Directorate of Public Services of the Municipality.
Parking lots will not be allowed to operate if they:
- Have direct access to main roads or intersections, as they obstruct traffic flow
- Are located on green spaces or public property
Goal: To ensure greater order, safety, and protection of public space and the environment.
