The Municipality of Prishtina has announced that it will take action against certain bus operators from Podujeva who are bypassing the official bus station in Prishtina and stopping at “Xhamia e Llapit.”

According to the statement, the municipality is committed to enforcing the agreement between the Municipalities of Prishtina and Podujeva, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, and the Transport Operators Association.

“Recent reports indicating that some operators from Podujeva intend to bypass the Prishtina Bus Station and stop at Xhamia e Llapit are concerning and constitute a clear violation of municipal regulations and the mutual agreement. We emphasize that such actions will not be permitted. The municipality will take all necessary legal and administrative measures to ensure that all intercity buses, without exception, stop at the official Prishtina Bus Station for passenger pick-up and drop-off,” the announcement stated.

The municipality further highlighted that unauthorized stops in the city center pose risks to traffic safety, public order, and urban transport planning.

“Additionally, we remind that the center of Prishtina cannot accommodate intercity transport due to city development dynamics, increased vehicle flow, and the need for sustainable public space management. In this regard, we emphasize that the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning must review and revoke all licenses of operators who do not comply with the route and designated departure point, which is and remains the Prishtina Bus Station. Failure to comply with this obligation renders the operating license invalid. We also remind that the Municipality of Podujeva has not yet provided a final response to the draft of the joint agreement, which further underscores the importance of respecting existing rules and the temporary agreement currently in effect,” the statement added.
