Prishtina will spend approximately €100,000 on decorating the capital for the end-of-year holidays, according to an official procurement notice published by the Municipality of Prishtina.

The contract αφορά services for decorating the city’s main squares during the New Year festivities and was awarded through a negotiated procurement procedure.

The initial estimated value of the contract was €100,000, while the final value of the signed contract amounts to €98,557.

According to official documents, the contract was signed on December 12, 2025, and the decorations will cover Prishtina’s main public squares.

The Municipality of Prishtina had delayed the holiday decorations due to a financial crisis, which had previously led to protests by Urban Traffic operators. For nine consecutive days, buses were parked in front of the municipal building as the company demanded payment of workers’ salaries and compensation for essential transport services.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance allocated €28 million to the Municipality of Prishtina, enabling it to settle payments for public services and finance several projects. These funds included municipal resources as well as a government grant.
