Acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, spoke to the media following the failure to elect Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly, which has once again stalled the constitution of the institution.
When asked by journalists whether Vetëvendosje’s goal is to push for new elections, he said, “No.”
“It is not our intention to head to elections that would be the last resort for us,” Murati stated.
“Vetëvendosje, as the winner of the elections recently certified by the Central Election Commission (CEC), has the right to propose the candidate for Speaker of the Assembly, and it has exercised that right by nominating Ms. Albulena Haxhiu,” he added.
