Vetëvendosje MP Hekuran Murati, following the failure of the constitutive session, stated that there are opposition MPs who would like to vote for Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly, but are being prevented from doing so by their parties.
“As you saw, we had a repetition of previous sessions. This happens because some MPs are refusing to vote for Albulena Haxhiu. I believe this situation is being caused by those who don’t vote in favor, yet they complain about the deadlock. There are accusations that pressure is being applied to vote. We’ve heard that individual MPs have expressed their desire to vote in favor, but party positions are preventing them,” Murati said.
